PESHAWAR – More rain-wind/thunderstorms with isolated heavy falls and hailstorms are predicted in Peshawar and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Friday night, Saturday and Sunday.
As per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a westerly wave prevails over western and upper parts of Pakistan. It will likely persist in upper parts during the next two to three days.
Under these conditions, more rain-wind/thunderstorms with isolated hailstorms are predicted in Dera Ismail Khan, Lucky Marwat, Bannu, Tank, Waziristan, Karak, Kohat, Kurram, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Swabi, Mardan, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Buner and Malakand on Friday night and the next 2-3 days. Isolated heavy falls are also predicted in upper districts.
Moderate to heavy rains may generate flash floods in local nullahs/streams of Dir, Swat, Chitral, Manshera and Kohistan. Landslides are also likely in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Windstorms/hailstorms and lightning may affect human lives, standing crops, and loose structures like electric poles and solar panels.
Peshawar’s maximum temperatures will likely remain between 31-33 degrees Celsius on Saturday and Sunday.
Meanwhile, rain-thunderstorm occurred in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the last 24 hours.

Peshawar remained the hottest place in the province where the maximum temperature was recorded at 32 C. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 52 per cent.
