Online taxi driver TahirMehmood, who allegedly threatened to commit suicide, has returned home alive after a harrowing ordeal. The incident unfolded when TahirMehmood, facing financial difficulties, reportedly jumped into the sea, triggering a rescue op
eration to save him.
TahirMehmood revealed that following a disagreement with his wife, he went to Karachi’s Do Darya (seaside) where he informed her of his intentions over a phone call. Contrary to his initial plan, Tahir changed his mind and began walking back.
However, he recounted being attacked by four individuals who sprayed him with a hazardous substance, rendering him unconscious. Upon regaining consciousness, Tahir found himself in Nazimabad, his belongings missing. Despite the ordeal, he managed to make his way home on foot, where he was later taken to the hospital by his wife and brother.
Tahir’s parents and cousin arrived the following morning, and he provided his statement at the Shah Faisal police station. The previous day, moments before his alleged suicide attempt, Tahir had made a distressing video call to his wife, indicating his intentions. Subsequently, his car was discovered by the police near the beach.
He recounted being attacked by four individuals who sprayed him with a hazardous substance, rendering him unconscious. Describing Tahir’s circumstances, his father mentioned family disputes stemming from financial troubles.
Tahir, who is married twice, reportedly expressed exhaustion from domestic conflicts. His father noted that Tahir, a father of two daughters, had contacted his second wife before his disappearance.
