Iranian President Raisi arrives in Lahore today

LAHORE  – President of Iran Dr. Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi arrived in Lahore today.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, members of the Provincial Cabinet and the distinguished guests at the airport.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Bilal Yasin and others welcomed the Iranian President.

The Punjab government, in connection with the visit of the Iranian delegation led by President Raisi, announced a local holiday.

According to the notification issued by the Punjab government, the holiday will be observed only in Lahore district and its subordinate offices. However, the notification made it clear that it was not for the Punjab Civil Secretariat, its attached department and the regional offices.

President Raisi who arrived in Islamabad on Monday held important meetings with President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and other lleaders.

Strict security arrangements have been made on the occasion.

After the conclusion of Lahore’s visit, the Iranian president will reach Karachi where he will pay respect to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the father of the nation, at his mausoleum. He will also meet the Sindh government’s top leadership and the business community representatives during his stay.
