NHMP foils bid to smuggle 121 kg drugs

The National Highways and Motorways Police (NHMP) on Monday foiled a bid to smuggle 121 kilograms of drugs but the smugglers managed to escape. According to details, the NHMP signaled to stop a suspected vehicle near Swabi but the accused sped away.

After being chased, the accused left the vehicle by roadside in nearby location and fled away. During search of the vehicle, 87 kg of hashish and 34 kg of heroin were recovered from its secret cavities. After preliminary investigations, the recovered drugs were handed over to ANF Peshawar.—INP
