In a recent announcement, Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) PK109 Asif Khan Mehsud revealed that construction work on the CPEC road connecting Yarak to Jandola, Sararogha, and Shawal in South Waziristan Upper District is set to begin imminently. Speaking to a delegation from the Mehsud Press Club, led by President Farooq Mehsud, MPA Asif Mehsud highlighted the significance of this infrastructure project in addressing the region’s developmental challenges.
MPA Asif Mehsud acknowledged the prevailing issues in Upper South Waziristan and reassured the community of ongoing efforts to resolve them. He emphasized that the proposed road construction under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) initiative has already undergone initial administrative processes and awaits final approval, which is expected soon.
Furthermore, MPA Asif Mehsud addressed concerns regarding compensation for individuals affected by Operation Rah-e-Nejat, ensuring that measures are being taken to provide relief to those whose houses were destroyed during the military operation. He underscored the importance of job creation and agricultural development in Upper South Waziristan, emphasizing the provincial government’s commitment to providing employment opportunities to local residents.
In addition to infrastructure projects, MPA Asif Mehsud highlighted the government’s initiatives to support individuals affected by conflict, including providing government jobs and compensating families of martyrs who lost their lives to landmines in the region.
