Light rain likely in Islamabad, Rawalpindi

ISLAMABAD – Rain-wind/thunderstorms are likely in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Pakistan on Monday evening/night.

As per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a shallow westerly wave prevails over upper parts of Pakistan. Another westerly wave will likely approach western parts of the country on 24th April.

Under these conditions, rain-wind/thunderstorms are likely in the twin cities, Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and adjoining hilly areas on Monday evening/night.

On Tuesday, rain-wind/thunderstorms are likely in Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and adjoining hilly areas. dry weather is expected elsewhere in the country.

Islamabad’s maximum temperatures will likely remain between 27-29 degrees Celsius on Tuesday and 28-30 C on Wednesday.

Rawalpindi’s maximum temperatures will remain between 25-27 C on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Meanwhile, dry weather prevailed over most parts of the country during the last 24 hours. However, rain/thunderstorms occurred at isolated places in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Kasmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Nawabshah remained the hottest places in the country where the maximum temperature was recorded at 42 C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 27 per cent.

In Islamabad, maximum temperature was recorded at 32 C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 38 per cent.

In Rawalpindi, maximum temperature was recorded at 30 C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 40 per cent.
