Engr Hafiz Naeemur Rahman, the newly appointed Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, recently visited the homes of slain individuals Sher Alam and Zaheer Abbasi, who were victims of a tragic armed robbery in the SITE area. During his condolence visits, Naeemur Rahman expressed profound sorrow and condemned the heinous acts of robbery and murder.
He voiced strong criticism against the government and law enforcement agencies for their failure to effectively combat crime, particularly armed robberies, which have witnessed a disturbing surge during Ramadan. Naeem-ul-Rahman highlighted the alarming statistics, revealing that 20 civilians and 60 others had fallen victim to armed robbers’ bullets during this period.
He described the situation as indicative of a prevailing “dacoit raj,” where citizens are left vulnerable to criminal elements due to the authorities’ inability to ensure public safety. Naeemur Rahman called upon the Sindh government and police to take immediate and decisive action to protect the lives and property of citizens. He emphasized the need for impartial measures to hold perpetrators accountable and restore public trust in law enforcement.
Additionally, he raised concerns about the reported involvement of police personnel in criminal activities, underscoring the urgency of addressing such issues to maintain law and order.
The gathering during Naeemur Rahman’s visits included local leaders Abdul Razzaq Khan and Fazl Ahad, as well as Hashim Yusuf Abdali, President of JI Youth Karachi, among others. Their presence highlighted the community’s solidarity and shared determination to address the pressing issue of rising crime rates and ensure the safety and security of all citizens.
