In today’s society, the tradition of writing letters and mailing Eid cards is quickly dying out as individuals, especially young people, prefer to wish their loved ones through electronic greetings and download Eid greeting applications in advance of the Eid-ul-Fitr festival.

It has been observed that the nature of Eid greetings has significantly changed since most people now use digital platforms rather than exchanging Eid cards. Undoubtedly, the days of sending Eid cards to family and friends are over, a senior citizen observed, adding that today, people express their emotions through the internet, mobile devices, and social media.

According to a female teacher, sending Eid cards to friends and family was formerly commonplace for most families to spend time carefully choosing, buying, writing and mailing Eid greeting cards to families and friends, but now it has become rare.

A social media user commented on the diminishing trend of playing cards by saying that our way of life has changed. “We now pay more attention to our finances. It is more practical to download free e-cards online, which can be delivered to many pals with only one click.
