MUMBAI – New Zealand cricketers who left the tour of Pakistan for the Indian Premier League (IPL) are facing difficulties besides lack of opportunities, the latest reports say.

The cricketers from New Zealand are awaiting matches in India for a good start to the season.

Nine Kiwi cricketers have contracts in the Indian Premier League, but so far only four have had the opportunity to play matches.

In the IPL, a team can include up to four foreign players in the playing XI for a match. New Zealand players are facing difficulties in being included in the playing XI.

According to the New Zealand media, New Zealand cricketers are seen running to fetch water and only practicing.

Kane Williamson scored 27 runs in three matches sitting out, while fast bowler Trent Boult took 5 wickets in 4 matches and Rachin Ravindra scored 112 runs in 5 matches.

New Zealand’s most expensive player, Daryl Mitchell, scored 118 runs in five matches.

On the other hand, in the IPL, all-rounder Mitchell Santner, wicketkeeper-batsman Devon Conway, fast bowler Lockie Ferguson, batter Glenn Phillips, and fast bowler Matt Henry have not yet played any matches.
