As Eidul Fitr approaches, Karachi witnesses a sharp surge in chicken prices, mirroring trends in other Sindh cities.

Despite a commissioner-mandated rate of Rs666/kg, profiteers exploit heightened demand, pushing prices to Rs800/kg. Local administration efforts to curb price hikes during Ramadan falter, leaving citizens grappling with inflated prices for essential items. Officially set prices of Rs666/kg for chicken meat and Rs428/kg for live chicken remain elusive, prompting widespread complaints about scarcity at regulated rates.
