Sharjeel to unveil new transport initiatives after Eid

Sindh Transport Minister, SharjeelMemon, has unveiled a series of transport projects set to commence in Sindh, particularly in Karachi and Mirpurkhas, shortly after the conclusion of EidulFitr.

Taking to X platform, Minister Memon shared the exciting news, revealing that the Transport Department, under the guidance of Chairman @BBhuttoZardari, will kickstart these initiatives to benefit the people of Sindh. Among the key projects outlined by Minister Memonare the launch of the second phase of the Pink Bus Service catering to women in Karachi post-Eid.

Additionally, new routes for electric vehicle (EV) buses in Karachi and the introduction of the People’s Bus Service in Mirpurkhas are on the agenda.

In a bid to enhance public transportation accessibility, the Sindh government, led by the Pakistan People’s Party, plans to roll out a complimentary shuttle service connecting the Orange Line BRT and Green Line BRT in Karachi. Furthermore, Minister Memon hinted at the groundbreaking ceremony for the BRT Yellow Line project post-Eid, with the reconstruction of Jam Sadiq Bridge in Korangi slated for the initial phase.

Anticipating an expansion in the transport fleet, Minister Memon suggested the procurement of an additional 500 buses to bolster the existing Peoples Bus Service.
