IG Sindh GhulamNabiMemon chaired a follow-up meeting to review the progress of law enforcement operations against dacoits in the Kacha area. The meeting, which focused on the extraordinary measures and decisions taken during the last session, aimed to ensure effective implementation and further directives in combating criminal activities.
Participants at the meeting included Deputy Inspectors General (DIGs) from Sukkur, Larkana, Shikarpur, and Kashmore/Kandhkot, who provided separate briefings on the outcomes and successes of unconventional operations, including intelligence-based actions, against dacoits in the Kacha area. They also briefed on the implementation status of the previous session’s directives. IG Sindh announced a cash reward of five hundred thousand rupees and a certificate of appreciation for the SSP Kashmore in recognition of the exceptional performance of the SSP Kashmore in confronting dacoits during police encounters.
Efforts to ensure the preparedness and vigilance of appointed officers and personnel in police packets established in the Kacha area were emphasized, with 15/15 young personnel appointed to major police packets to enhance security for travelers on the highway. Furthermore, plans were discussed to strengthen and expand the intelligence network in the Kacha areas. Stringent actions against the hideouts and facilitators/accomplices of dacoits, as per available lists, were deemed imperative, with a commitment to swift implementation. It was emphasized that
FIRs should be registered against apprehended suspects, while the mandatory inclusion of identification parades in cases involving unidentified suspects was stressed. Investigation resources will be bolstered with the establishment of an Investigation Alliance at the provincial level. IG Sindh reiterated the commitment of law enforcement agencies, stating that the action against crimes/dacoits would not only be a government endeavor but a personal one as well.
