In a bid to promote higher education, the Sindh government has greenlit over 3,000 scholarships for the academic year 2023-2024.

Led by provincial minister for education, Syed Sardar Ali Shah, the Sindh Educational Endowment Fund (SEEF) board convened to approve this initiative, which aims to provide educational opportunities for students across the province. The decision was made to ensure that future scholarship recipients are enrolled from their first year, with applications being processed electronically for enhanced efficiency and transparency. Minister Shah emphasized that the scholarships aim to assist deserving students, stressing that those unable to afford education costs should not be deterred from pursuing their academic aspirations. Furthermore, the inclusion of nursing degrees in the scholarship program is expected to encourage more young individuals towards the nursing profession, ultimately strengthening the healthcare sector.

Highlighting the success of previous initiatives, Minister Shah noted that up to 5,430 students have been able to continue their higher education due to scholarships awarded by the Sindh government until the academic year 2022.
