LAHORE – A family court on Tuesday directed the lawywr of Punjab Home Secretary Noorul Amin Mengal to come up with a response by April 4 in a case initiated by his second wife, who filed plea seeking family maintenance allowance and expenses for treatment of a sick daughter.

Family Judge Shazia Kausar issued the directive during a hearing for Ambreen Sardar’s plea. The plaintiff approached the court through her counsel Mian Dawood and submitted that their five years old daughter Aliha Noor had been suffering from autism. She said she needed treatment on daily basis but her husband Noorul Amin Mengal was not caring about it. Ambreen said that Mengal could not come even to see his daughter for a long time.

Despite attempts by Noorul Amin Mengal’s counsel to delay the case, citing the need for a later date due to Eid, the judge emphasized the urgency of determining interim expenses for the girl, who suffers from autism and requires daily therapy.

The court directed Mengal’s legal team to comply with the submission deadline of April 4.
