The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday issued non-bailable arrest warrants for TehreemElahi, wife of PTI leader MoonisElahi and daughter-in-law of PTI President ChaudhryPervaizElahi, after she failed to show up despite having been repeatedly issued summons.
A two-member bench of the LHC, headed by Justice ShehramSarwarChaudhry, issued the order on the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) petition, seeking cancellation of bails of the people, who are co-suspects in a money laundering case against ChaudhryPervaiz.
Amir SaeedRawn Advocate, who appeared in the court along with RasikhElahi and Zahra Elahi, on the occasion said that he was the counsel for Rasikh and Zahra, and not Tehreem, whose bailable arrest warrants had been issued.
Deputy Director FIA, on the occasion, said that Tehreem was not cooperating with the investigators and she had been skipping court hearings.
Raise in Light Transport Vehicle (LTV) driving licence fee was challenged in the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday.
Syed Aftab Shah who moved the plea in the court stated that the Punjab government has increased the LTV licence fee from Rs950 to Rs10,000. Citing the massive increase in the licence fee unbearable for drivers, the applicant urged the LHC to nullify the move.
Justice ShahidKarim of LHC after initial hearing of the plea, served notices to the Punjab home secretary, IG and CTO and sought replies from them on the plea.
