Polio cases jumped to 13 in district Khyber

The health officials in the merged district Khyber on Saturday confirmed that the polio virus affected children number is increased to 13 when seven more children were found with poliomyelitis virus at three subdivisions of Khyber. Sharing the details of the seven affected children via SMS, Dr.Tariq Hayat, the district health officer of Khyber told media that after these seven polio positive cases the number of polio affected children jumped to 13 during the year 2020.
According to the official of health department, three children from Bara tehsil, namely ,Laiba d.o Saeed Noor (20months), Romaisa d.o Adullah (10 Months) and Uzair s.o Muhammad Akbar (13 Months) were declared polio positive by the Pakistan health institution (PIH).
Fareeha d.o Kashif (33 months) and Rabi Ullah s.o Zafran(10 months) of Landikotal tehsil and Muhammad Anas s.o Fazal rehman ( 17 Months), Marwa d.o Gulmat Shah (22 months) of Ali Masjid in Jamrud subsidvision laboratory tests were found polio positive. The official added in the SMS that the medical laboratory has declared these cases as polio type 2 category.
