PESCO gears up drive against power pilferers

Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) Saturday geared up campaign against power pilferers in the areas of Abottabad and recovered millions of rupees from defaulters in Hazara I circle.
PESCO surveillance teams also inspected 23 meters in the ongoing drive against power pilferage. According to PESCO, drive against illegal power connections would continue as this was the main reason behind overburdening of electricity supply system and increased line losses.
FESCO task force has caught another eleven (11) people involved in electricity theft across the district. Police source said on Saturday that FESCO Tack force have conducted raids at village Vijh, Phularwan, Chak 116 SB, Chak Sahab Khan and others areas red handed caught another 11 people involved in stealing electricity from main transmission lines. They were including Ali, Abaid Ullah, Shabbir, Azam, Ghulam Rasool, Altaf, Ashraf and others. On reports of authorities police have registered separate cases.
The Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) has issued shutdown notice for Sunday due to necessary repair, maintenance and expansion of electricity lines. According to the schedule, power supply from NIAB-II, Islam Pura, Data, Children Hospital, Atomic Energy, Sheikh Colony and Jhang Road feeders from 132-KV Jhang Road Faisalabad grid station will remain suspended from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. while Lakkar Mandi, Bakkar Mandi, Gulfishan, Kausar Abad, Sarshmeer, NIAB-1, Sadhar, Jinnah, Tahir Pura, PAF, Dhandra, Gardana, Sabzi Mandi, Muhammad Pura, Kamal Abad, Gulberg, Elyas Park, Judgewala and al-Rehman feeders originating from 132-KV Jhang Road grid station will observe shutdown from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday (March 15).
