IGP reviews Karachi’s law and order

In a significant development regarding the current law and order situation in Karachi, Inspector General (IG) Sindh, Raffat Mukhtar Raja, presided over a vital meeting at the Central Police Office. The meeting focused on street crimes, incidents of violence during robberies, and measures taken by the police, with detailed reports and briefings provided.

The attendees included additional IG Karachi, zone DIGs, crime and investigation officials, as well as operations and administration heads. Each zone’s DIG presented separate briefings on street crime, investigations, and the Special Investigation Unit (SIU). Discussions centered on the arrest of street criminals, apprehension of new offenders, drug-related crimes, and measures against individuals released on bail or in jail. Strategies to effectively curb street crimes and handle regular offenders were emphasized, along with the need for continual analysis of crime data.

The meeting also called for swift action against illegal immigrants and suggested revoking temporary permits for those involved in criminal activities. Additionally, close supervision of individuals on bail or released on bail was stressed for better law enforcement and community safety.
