Ameer Jamat-e-Islami Karachi Hafiz Naeemur Rahman, condemned the unchecked inflation, attributing it to governmental incompetence and corruption. He highlights the plight of ordinary people who find it increasingly difficult to afford essential items, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan.
Rahman criticized the authorities for their failure to implement price control mechanisms and ensure the enforcement of official price lists. He questioned the absence of effective measures to address the economic challenges faced by the populace, resulting in a dire situation where basic necessities become out of reach for many.
Furthermore, Rahman underscored the dwindling purchasing power of the lower-income segments of society, emphasizing the disproportionate burden placed on their shoulders. With skyrocketing utility bills and transportation costs, coupled with stagnant incomes, families struggle to make ends meet. In light of the current circumstances, Rahman urged the government, commissioners, deputy commissioners, and relevant agencies to fulfill their responsibilities and prioritize price control initiatives. He stresses the urgency of the situation, particularly during Ramadan, when access to affordable fruits and vegetables becomes a pressing concern for the less privileged segments of society.
