MULTAN – Nine people were killed and two others suffered injuries after a dilapidated three-storey building collapsed in an area of Multan on Tuesday.
Rescue officials said the incident happed in Mohallah Jawadian near Haram Gate in the wee hours of Tuesday. An official said the rescue teams rushed to the spot after an emergency call was received at 3:30am.
He said 11 people were trapped under the rubble after the building collapsed, adding that nine of them died on the spot where two have been shifted to Nishtar Hospital in critical condition.
Among nine dead, seven belonged to the same family. Women and children are also among those who lost their lives in the incident.
The deceased were identified as Danish (15), Faheem Abbas (40), Ameer Ali (12), Waseem (14), Sanoobar (40), Bukhtawar Ameen (18) and Komal (13), Geo News reported.
