Ambassador of Algiers, Brahim Romani on Monday visited the Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL) and discussed with Chairperson DrNajiba Arif literary collaboration between Algiers and Pakistan.

Director General (DG) of the PAL, Sultan Nasir was also present on the occasion. DrNajibaArif, Chairperson of the PAL welcomed the dignitary at the PAL and briefed him about the role and contribution of the PAL in promotion of literary activities in the country.

She told the visiting ambassador that an important segment of the PAL projects was translation of foreign literature. Through such projects, people of the two countries can understand each other’s culture, history, and people’s mindset.

DrBrahim Romani commended the PAL’s efforts and expressed the desire that literary exchanges of writers and poets should be held to bring the two countries closer together. Since I myself have a passion for reading and writing, it is my desire that both Pakistan and Algiers should move forward in this direction as they have considerably advanced in business and trade, the ambassador said.

However, any such agreement in this regard is subject to the approval of the Foreign Office and its concerned section.
