LAHORE – Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that over 30 million people of Punjab are going to receive their rights at their doorstep.

CM Maryam said that they are providing Ramadan packages to the deserving.

“We have named it“Ramadan Negahban”. People observe fasts and have to stand in the long queues; we will ensure that the rights of the poor are delivered to their doorstep without any hassle,” said the chief minister while addressing a press conference in Lahore on Wednesday.

CM Maryam said that upon the desire of herself and Nawaz Sharif, the team conducted a tremendous exercise. The entire Punjab government, police, and relevant departments are involved in this process.

“There is no data available with the government to provide relief; we have collected all the data with the help of BISP and Nadra. Qualified individuals have been searched based on division and district,” said the CM.

The Punjab chief minister said that Shahbaz Sharif also provided free flour to people last Ramadan. It is good news that in the next three to four months, they would conduct a survey of over 120 million people, whose income is less than 60,000, and bring them into the data.

“Your data will be available in one system, which will make it easier for future governments through data,” she added.

She vowed to provide hampers at the doorsteps of the deserving people and launched an helpline number to lodge the complaint if any.

Maryam Nawaz said that the data collected is verified, delivered, and transparent.

At the moment, the packaging and delivery of the Ramadan Neghaban package are underway. So far, they delivered about 80,000 packages.

She said that there are 10 kg of flour, 2 kg of sugar, 2 kg of ghee, and 2 kg of rice in one bag.

Chief Minister Maryam said, “We have maintained the best quality of ghee, rice, flour, besan, and rice,”.

The CM said that they digitized the delivery system of Ramadan Neghaban Package.

“ The delivery teams have been formed based on UCs and localities. An android application has been made for the delivery teams of PITB. There are about 6 million bags, and there are QR codes on all 6 million bags. We have taken pictures of those who receive the package, which will be kept safe,” she added.

She also warned action against hoardings and gave three days time for registration. Maryam also warned the opposition not to block the roads otherwise it would not be tolerated, making it clear that she is ready to listen to the productive and positive criticism.
