At a press conference held at Bilawal House, Shazia Marri, representing the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), emphasized that the PPP did not participate in the government and plans to contest the upcoming presidential election. Marri expressed concerns over Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s discussions on privatizing state-owned entities, urging consideration for alternative proposals presented by Bilawal Bhutto.
She underscored the PPP’s priority of safeguarding the interests of workers, expressing discontent with any potential job losses resulting from privatization efforts. Notably, the PPP and PML-N had previously agreed on a power-sharing arrangement, designating Shehbaz Sharif as Prime Minister and Asif Ali Zardari as President of Pakistan.
