In a concerted effort to instill healthy eating habits among students, Madam Amna Bibi, Food Safety Officer, and Mohammad Zahid, Assistant Food Safety Officer, spearheaded the “Eat Safe Kids” campaign under the auspices of the District Food Authority. A seminar was organized at MC Boys High School, The City School, and Government Razia Sultana School, where students were enlightened about adopting a healthy lifestyle and nutritious food habits.
Prominent Guests: The seminar featured esteemed guests, including Special Deputy Director Operation Jehanazeeb Khalid and DFO Secondary Education. Principals of the three participating schools and a significant number of students were also in attendance.
Emphasis on Home-Cooked Meals: Special Deputy Director Jehanazeeb Khalid stressed the importance of steering away from street food and instead focusing on the consumption of home-cooked items. He highlighted that the school administration holds a crucial role in providing quality food in school canteens. Parents and teachers were encouraged to actively participate in guiding children towards making healthy food choices.
Building a Healthy Society: Khalid emphasized that creating a clean and healthy society starts at the grassroots level. Opting for better and quality food is pivotal in shaping a healthy society. The campaign aims to provide training sessions to students, parents, and teachers, focusing on raising awareness about the significance of safe, healthy, and nutritious food for the comprehensive development of children.
Parental and School Support: The school administration and parents pledged their full support for the initiative, acknowledging its potential to contribute to the overall development of students. The participants expressed their gratitude towards the Punjab Food Authority for pioneering this unique campaign.
