Weather outlook of Islamabad, Pakistan; more rain, snowfall predicted

ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted more rain-wind/thunderstorms with snowfall over the hills for Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Pakistan on Sunday evening/night.

As per the synoptic situation, a westerly wave prevails over the upper parts of Pakistan.

Under these conditions, more rain-wind/thunderstorms with snowfall over the hills are expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Potohar region, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan on Sunday evening/night.

On Monday and Tuesday, cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of Pakistan. Freezing weather is expected in the upper parts of the country.

Islamabad’s minimum temperatures will likely remain between 07-09 degrees Celsius on Monday and 06-08 C on Tuesday.

Rawalpindi’s minimum temperatures will likely remain between 07-09 C on Monday and 06-08 C on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, rain-wind/thunderstorms with snowfall over mountains occurred in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan and upper/central Punjab during the last 24 hours. Heavy rainfall and hailstorms occurred in isolated places.

Kalat and Kalam remained the coldest places in the country where mercury dropped 08 C below freezing.

In Islamabad, minimum temperature was recorded at 08 C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 94 per cent.
