The 2nd Global Research Congress-2024, hosted by Sindh Madrassat-ul-Islam University, wrapped up after addressing critical discussions on population challenges and media’s influence in fostering peaceful and smart communities.
During the concluding day’s panel discussion titled “Population Challenges and Social Inclusion: Role of Media in Shaping Peaceful and Smart Communities,” experts emphasized the urgent need for population control due to limited resources.
Dr. Tauseef Ahmed Khan highlighted media’s pivotal role in societal change and advocated for its involvement in spreading awareness about family planning, citing successful examples from neighboring countries like Iran, Bangladesh, and India.
Prominent intellectual Dr. Riaz Ahmed Shaikh stressed the importance of openly addressing population issues and implementing effective family planning measures to ensure societal sustainability. Senior journalist Shahzeb Jillani underscored the need for empowering women in decision-making regarding family planning and lamented the prevailing shyness and reluctance, even among elite circles, to discuss such matters openly. Prominent intellectual Dr. Riaz Ahmed Shaikh called for overcoming societal hang-ups to address population-related challenges effectively.
