Pakistan’s aviation security systems have received praise from the USAP-CMA Audit Team of ICAO, surpassing the organization’s new 2023 benchmark and nearing the 2030 goals. Following a thorough assessment by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the USAP-CMA Audit Team, comprising four members, lauded Pakistan’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) for notable improvements in aviation security.

During a briefing at the CAA headquarters, team leader Oscar Rubio Annibal commended the DG CAA for the advancements, particularly highlighting the impact of the recently enacted CAA Act 2023 legislation.

The audit primarily focused on evaluating the CAA Aviation Security Directorate over five days, followed by examinations of security protocols at Jinnah International Airport for an additional four days. Various areas including the airport, ASF, airlines, cargo and ground handling companies, catering services, and more were assessed. Interactions with Passport Office and FIA immigration staff were conducted, with the team expressing satisfaction with observed procedures. The audit, a comprehensive assessment since 2019, was met with warm hospitality in Pakistan, as acknowledged by the USAP-CMA Audit Team.

The DG CAA presented souvenirs to the audit team, marking a successful collaboration and acknowledgment of Pakistan’s strides in aviation security.
