Contempt case IHC withdraws second show cause notice to Islamabad DC

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday withdrew the second show-cause notice issued to Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, Irfan Nawaz Memon for not attending court hearing. Justice Babar Sattar of the IHC conducted hearing of the miscellaneous application of Islamabad DC. The DC appeared in the court along with his lawyer Raja Rizwan Abbasi.

The court accepted the request to withdraw the show cause but dismissed the request of DC Islamabad for exemption from attending the court on March 1. The IHC said in its order said that the verdict reserved earlier would be pronounced on Friday. The court said in the order that the accused must be present on the day of the verdict. The IHC dismissed the plea for exemption.

The court said, “There are two to three days left, after Friday he can proceed on his foreign tour.” The verdict in the contempt of court case against Islamabad DC will be pronounced on March 1.
