Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Sharjeel Inam Memon highlighted the significant mandate bestowed upon the party by the people of Sindh. Memon emphasized that regardless of the presence of opposition members in the assemblies, the responsibility of the people’s welfare rests squarely on the shoulders of the PPP. He noted that Bilawal Bhutto has extended an invitation for engagement with opposition members. Following the oath-taking ceremony, Memon underscored the PPP’s majority in the Sindh Assembly, with Bilawal Bhutto nominating candidates for the Speaker and Deputy Speaker positions.

It was announced that the Speaker, Deputy Speaker, and Chief Minister will all be from the PPP. Memon stressed the importance of fostering understanding and unity among political rivals, emphasizing that while they may compete, they are not adversaries.

He cautioned against political instability, citing the country’s pressing issues that require collective efforts. Regarding recent actions, Memon criticized the decision to write a letter to the IMF, deeming it a more significant error than previous missteps. He warned against potential adverse consequences, including widespread unemployment, and questioned the rationale behind such decisions that could harm the nation.

Clarifying the PPP’s stance, Memon stated that the party has consistently advocated for national interests, rejecting the notion of halting aid until the resolution of the Shaheed Bhutto case. He contrasted this with the experiences of party leaders, emphasizing the endurance of hardships without compromising on principles.
