She will be the first female chief minister of Punjab in the country’s history.

According to the sources said that Communication and Works department secretary and Excise department also updated her about the working of the respective departments. The secretaries of both the education department briefed the nominated Chief Minister.

“More secretaries are expected to brief her today,” said the sources, pointing out that the working policy would be made after that for the new government.

The sources said that after the successful notification of the elected members of the Punjab Assembly, a session of the Assembly would be convened, which is mandatory before February 29.

After this, Maryam Nawaz would be formally elected as the Chief Minister of Punjab, and a new government would be formed in Punjab.

The elected members of the Punjab Assembly from Rawalpindi initiated lobbying for inclusion in the provincial cabinet.

With the advent of the new government, there is also a possibility of a major reshuffle in Punjab’s bureaucracy.
