ISLAMABAD – The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday again summoned caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar in the case related to missing Baloch students.

Justice Mohsin Akthar Kayani issued another notice after the premier skipped the today’s hearing due to his participation in COP28.

During the hearing, Justice Kayani remarked that the prime minister had skipped the hearing twice, adding that the court had summoned him as he is answerable. He said defence secretary, interior secretary, DG ISI and DG MI are also government employees.

The judge remarked that all officers are answerable as no one was above the low. “It has been two years for making efforts to recover our citizens,” he observed.

Attorney General for Pakistan Mansoor Usman Awan appeared before the court and informed the judge that eight students are missing.

The judge remarked that previous governments and incumbent caretaker setup had failed to recover the missing students.

Justice Kayani later issued notices to the prime minister, defence and interior ministers, summoning them on Feb 28.
