Governor Muhammad Kamran Khan Tessori of Sindh embarked on a tour of the Government Hospital Korangi, where he engaged with patients and medical staff to assess healthcare provisions. During the visit, he emphasized the importance of enhancing healthcare services for citizens, highlighting the need for widespread health insurance coverage. Tessori announced plans to introduce state-funded health insurance, ensuring up to Rs 10 lac in medical coverage for every resident of Sindh.
Additionally, he addressed the issue of underutilized funds allocated to hospitals, attributing the failure to those who violate public interests, promising accountability across all sectors.
The Governor commended the hospital’s infrastructure and thanked the public for their support. He also applauded the commencement of IT classes and assured students of a bright future. Moreover, he announced free courses tailored to market demands, aimed at providing job opportunities. Prior to his visit, Dr. Zafar Abbas had prepared for emergencies, ensuring the hospital’s readiness to accommodate up to 20 patients.
