An earthquake measuring 5.8 on Richter scale jolted federal capital, central Punjab and upper parts of the country on Thursday.
According to details, high intensity quake was felt in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Sialkot, Lahore, Jhang, Chiniot, Toba Tek Singh and surroundings while the quake hit Peshawar, Mardan, Bannu, Kohat, Hangu, North Waziristan and other areas of the province.
People of the areas where quake was felt rushed out of their houses, shops and other building in panic reciting verses from Holy Quran and Kalma e Tayyeba.
However, no causalities or property damages were reported due to quake from anywhere.
The epicenter of the quake was stated to be Hindu Kush range in Afghanistan at the depth of 226 kilometers.
