ISLAMABAD – In a major development, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday rejected Nawaz Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Supremo Nawaz Sharif’s plea about NA-15, Manshera.

An ECP two-member bench led by Chief Elections Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja heard the plea moved by PML-N Supremo Nawaz Sharif.

The returning officer of NA-15 Manshera also submitted his report to the Election Commission as part of the proceedings.

Despite efforts from Nawaz Sharif’s legal team, the ECP rejected the plea, holding the importance of due process and adherence to electoral regulations.

The Commission directed Nawaz Sharif’s counsel to resubmit the application in accordance with the established protocols.

Nawaz Sharif faced defeat in NA-15 Manshera, where the PTI supported independent candidate Shahzad Ghatashap Khan emerged victorious.

Nawaz Sharif contested the outcome, raising concerns about the electoral process and demanding a review of the results.

While addressing the media during the hearing, Captain (Retd.) Safdar, Nawaz Sharif’s son-in-law, emphasized their commitment to upholding electoral integrity.

He reiterated their stance that they contested the election fairly and were determined to pursue their case through the appropriate channels.

“We have won this sea and have come here to prove it,” he added.
