WASHINGTON – The United States of America (USA) asked Pakistan for proper investigations into the allegations of electoral irregularities.
US State Department Spokesman Matthew Miller said that not only Pakistan but anywhere in the world where such allegations arise, thorough investigations should be conducted, and hence they would continue to demand investigations into the allegations.
He made these remarks during a press briefing in Washington on Thursday.
He mentioned that they are closely monitoring the situation in Pakistan and are looking forward to working with the government after its formation.
Matthew Miller further stated that the issue of a coalition government in Pakistan is an internal matter, and the decision regarding a coalition government should be made by Pakistan as coalition governments are formed when no party has a majority.
On the other hand, White House spokeswoman Kirane Jean Pierre stated that President Biden is aware of the general elections in Pakistan and knows that millions of Pakistanis including women and youth exercised their right to vote.
Kirane Jean Pierre mentioned that at both private and public levels, the Pakistani government and politicians have been made clear to respect public desires and ensure transparency in the electoral process, which is very important and necessary.
