IBA leads in business education conference

The Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi took center stage as the Exclusive Partner at the 11th Deans and Directors Conference 2024. Held under the theme of ‘Navigating Disruption and Innovation in Business Education’, the event concluded at the Pearl Continental Hotel, Karachi. Gathering eminent figures including Vice Chancellors, Deans, Directors, educators, and industry experts from across the nation, the conference, hosted by the National Business Education Accreditation Council (NBEAC-HEC), tackled the pressing challenges and promising prospects within the realm of business education.

Dr. S Akbar Zaidi, the Executive Director of IBA, kicked off proceedings with an insightful opening address. Expressing delight at IBA’s exclusive partnership, Dr. Zaidi emphasized the fundamental right of quality education for every Pakistani citizen. He underscored the need for elevating higher education standards and positioned IBA as a beacon of excellence for both public and private sector universities.

Throughout the conference, IBA faculty members, Deans, and the Executive Director played pivotal roles in various panel discussions. Dr. Zaidi himself featured as a panelist, contributing to a session titled ‘Driving Excellence through Strategic Academic and Industry Partnerships’. Dr. Abdullah Sheikh, Dean of the School of Business Studies (SBS), adeptly moderated a panel discussion on ‘Nurturing Responsible and Ethical Leadership in Business Schools’.

Over the course of February 12-13, attendees were immersed in enriching conversations, thought-provoking presentations, and interactive workshops. Discussions delved into adaptive curriculum strategies, leveraging emerging technologies, and fostering entrepreneurial mindsets to navigate the evolving landscape of business education. IBA Karachi’s prominent presence and proactive engagement at the conference underscored its commitment to advancing business education in Pakistan. By fostering collaboration and dialogue among stakeholders, IBA aims to drive innovation and excellence, paving the way for a brighter future in higher education.
