LAHORE- Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Shehbaz Sharif said that they would sit in the opposition if the independents show their majority and can make their government.
Shehbaz Sharif made it clear that if the candidates cannot form the government then the consensus is the way forward in the given situation.
He was addressing a press conference in Lahore on Tuesday.

Shehbaz Sharif looked quite disturbed during the press conference while coming down hard upon Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
He recalled the general elections of 2013 and 2018.
The PML-N president also mentioned the alleged rigging in the general elections of 2018 and said that even after defeat in the general elections 2018, they did not take to the streets.
“The rigging on general election 2018 day was clear. My constituency also witnessed massive rigging in Karachi,” said Shehbaz Sharif.
He said that there were many reservations at that time but the decisions by the SC and the commission paved the way.
He said that if in this election, the day when the results were coming, the 10 to 12 per cent results, there was a noise that the independents were winning the elections.
“Building opinion on 10 to 12 per cent results is not correct,” he said.
He said that it was quite strange that on the one side, it was being said that the independents were going ahead, and on the other hand, it was said that the rigging was being done right at that moment when the PML-N leaders were losing the seats.
He stated that this is quite contradictory that their candidates were losing while the independents were winning in this election. Khawaja Saad Rafiq accepted his defeat in this election with open heart.
Shehbaz Sharif once again claimed that the PML-N is the single largest party in the elections.
“The next phase has now started. I just want to make it clear that if the independents can make the government yes they can—no matter if they belong to the PTI and others—and we will sit there and play our constitutional role,”.
“If they cannot make the government then there should be consensus. And this is the democratic way,” said Shehbaz Sharif. The president has not to invite them to form the next government, he added.
He stated that they did not take to the streets after defeat in the general elections 2018.
