Deputy Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Angela Tanoesoedibjo said that good governance is needed to boost the competitiveness of the tourism sector and creative economy products in Sidoarjo, East Java.
“MSME (micro, small, and medium enterprise) actors have asked about how to increase their business quality, how to increase their business step, and how to build a sustainable business,” she informed.
“I think it starts from good governance. Of course, we need to consider the situation on the field because it might differ from one another. Thus, we have to collaborate,” she said at a press conference in Jakarta on Monday.
Tanoesoedibjo related the story of a leather craftsman from Tanggulangin, whose business boomed in the 1990s, but is currently declining.
She said that good governance must be encouraged for better business management.— Antara
