PTI-backed first Independent candidate Wasim Qadir joins PML-N

Amid post-election power struggle, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML- N) took the first and important wicket of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) as its Lahore Secretary General Waseem Qadir officially joined it on Sunday.

Waseem Qadir, the independent candidate who won the NA-121 seat in Lahore, reached the PML-N office and expressed full trust and confidence in the leadership of PML-N’s Supremo Nawaz Sharif.

Waseem Qadir held a meeting with PML-N Senior Vice-President Maryam Nawaz, decided to join the PML-N and shared his vision for the constituency.

“I joined the PML-N after extensive consultations with the local people and allies,” said Wasim Qadir while talking to the reporters in Lahore. Maryam Nawaz welcomed Wasim Qadir into the PML-N and expressed gratitude for his decision.

The development took place at the moment when the PML-N, the PPP and MQM-P leaders are holding meetings and deliberations on the post-election political situation in the country.

After Wasim Qadir’s joining, the PTI-backed independents are ahead in the National Assembly with 92 figures followed by PML-N with 79 and PPP with 54 and MQM-P 17. There are four azad [independent] candidates in the National Assembly , four seats of JUI-F and three seats of the Pakistan Muslim League. Similarly, IPP and BNP have two seats each, BAP and MWM and others have one seat each in the National Assembly.
