ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted cold and partly cloudy weather for Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Pakistan on Sunday evening/night, Monday and Tuesday.
As per the synoptic situation, a shallow westerly wave is approaching western parts of Pakistan. It will likely move upper parts during the next 24 hours.
Under these conditions, cold and partly cloudy weather is likely in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Pakistan on Sunday evening/night and the next two days. Freezing weather is likely in the upper parts. Rain-wind/thunderstorm is expected in southwestern parts of Balochistan. Light rain is also expected in Kashmir and adjoining areas during the period. Shallow fog may likely occur at a few places in plain areas of northeast Punjab during morning and night hours.
Islamabad’s minimum temperature will likely remain between 00-02 degrees Celsius on Monday and 01-03 C on Tuesday.
Rawalpindi’s minimum temperature will likely remain between 05-07 C on Monday and 04-06 C on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, cold and dry weather prevailed over most of the country during the last 24 hours. Freezing weather prevailed in the upper parts. Shallow fog prevailed in a few plain areas of Punjab.
In Islamabad, minimum temperature was recorded at 02 C. Relative humidity during the morning was 92 per cent.
In Rawalpindi, minimum temperature was recorded at 06 C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 73 per cent.
