Caretaker Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Aneeq Ahmed, announced the launch of a new app designed to facilitate Hajj pilgrims during his visit to the New Haji Camp.

Speaking to the media, he detailed the app’s features, which include guiding pilgrims from their Hajj flights to accommodations in Saudi Arabia, along with comprehensive training videos. Aneeq Ahmed emphasized that every pilgrim would receive a free single-colored QR code suitcase to easily identify their belongings. Additionally, each pilgrim will be provided with a mobile SIM card from a Saudi company, offering 180 minutes of international calls, free of charge. Highlighting the Caretaker government’s efforts to alleviate the financial burden on pilgrims, Aneeq mentioned a reduction of Rs0.1 million in the official Hajj package price. Regarding infrastructure improvements, the Minister noted the renovation of the New Haji Camp building and the establishment of a vaccination center for Hajj pilgrims.

In a bid to promote interfaith harmony, Aneeq informed about the ‘Interfaith Harmony Conference’ organized by the Federal Ministry of Religious Affairs, which saw participation from ambassadors of 30 countries. He also mentioned interfaith dialogues held at various universities and religious institutions, fostering understanding and cooperation among different religious communities. Aneeq concluded by highlighting the initiative to establish schools and clinics in mosques, initially launched at the Badshahi Mosque in Lahore and planned for expansion nationwide, aiming to provide educational and healthcare facilities to communities across Pakistan.
