Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman, delivered a stern address at a press conference held at the Idara-e-Noor Haq on Friday, condemning what he described as a failed attempt by the Election Commission to conduct peaceful and fair elections. He asserted, “We have won, we deserve our seats. The people of Karachi have given the most votes to Jamaat-e-Islami and independent candidates, yet through the worst rigging and manipulation, once again MQM is being imposed on the city.”

Despite receiving the highest number of votes in Karachi, Jamaat-e-Islami is allegedly facing a situation where only 5% of the votes went in favor of MQM, yet it has been awarded seats in both national and provincial assemblies. Rehman added, “Jamaat-e-Islami has Form 45 and Form 46 which prove our victory. Citizens are questioning why their votes are being disregarded, despite their active participation.”

Expressing outrage, he stated that Jamaat-e-Islami will vehemently protest against what they consider the worst electoral fraud and disrespect to public mandate, promising to stage massive protests and demonstrations nationwide. He questioned the Election Commission’s motives, asking, “If they wanted to achieve favorable results and defeat the winners, why spend 48 billion rupees on elections?”

Among those present at the press conference were General Secretary of Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi, Munawar Zafar Khan, Deputy Amir Karachi, Raja Arif Sultan, City Councilor Qazi Sadruddin, and Secretary of Information, Zahid Askari. Rehman concluded by warning the Election Commission that Jamaat-e-Islami will raise its voice for legal and constitutional rights, indicating a fierce battle ahead against what they perceive as electoral injustice.
