Indian Sikhs have been facing a new age of discrimination both domestically and internationally since Narendra Modi’s rise to power in 2014.
India’s notorious intelligence agency RAW with Modi’s consent has launched a covert operation against the Sikh diaspora in the US, Canada, UK, Australia and elsewhere. Threats to life of anti-India/pro-Khalistan activists emanating from the Indian government and RAW are increasing worldwide.
Participation of a large number of Sikhs in the Khalistan Referendum held in different cities of the world has unnerved the Modi regime to the extent that it has put notable leaders of Sikh diaspora on its hit list. Hardeep Singh Nijjar’s assassination in Canada and uncovering by the US authorities of the plot to kill Gurpatwant Singh Pannun are proof of RAW’s terrorist activities targeting Sikhs worldwide.
The Modi regime is taking cue from Israel in eliminating its critics abroad. Targeting of Sikhs by the Indian government and RAW in other countries is a clear violation of international law and UN principle of sovereignty of states. Modi’s India is posing danger to the regional as well as global stability through its rogue actions and state sponsored terrorism. The international community must accept that India under Modi has become a rogue Hindutva terrorist state. It must rein in the Modi regime before it takes more lives.—INP
