ISLAMABAD – Deputy Assistant Director of the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) had gone missing in the country’s capital Islamabad, prompting NADRA’s response.

Police in Islamabad lodged a case as NADRA Deputy Assistant Director Najeebullah Khan went missing on January 30. Asadullah, an official of PM house and brother of victim, told police that Najeebullah went to the office at 9 pm on Tuesday but has not returned since then.

The complainant said his brother informed them about that he was traveling to Peshawar, but kept an upset tone during the call. His brother expressed concern, saying Najeeb has no friends in KP.

He mentioned approaching his brother via phone but he is not responding. The FIR registered under section 365 of PPC said NajeebUllah could be held against his will, hinting at abduction.

The case of the NADRA official’s kidnap surfaced as authorities in Pakistan are arresting foreign nationals illegally residing in Pakistan.

Following the disappearance case, NADRA expressed concerns over reports and the administration was in contact with the family of Deputy Assistant Director.

Meanwhile, Islamabad police said they are tracing Najeeb’s movement from ICT to Khyber Pakhtunkhuwa with ‘Safe City’ security cameras.
