ISLAMABAD – An accountability court in the federal capital on Friday released the detail verdict in Thoshakhan case against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife, holding that both husband and wife obtained the public property through the fraudulent means.

In its verdict, the court ruled that Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi misused the Prime Minister’s Office, resulting in a financial benefit amounting to Rs. 1,573,320,000.

The judgment emphasized that the acquisition of public property through fraudulent methods was evident.

Just two days ago, Imran Khan and his spouse were sentenced to 14 years of rigorous imprisonment in the Toshakhana reference. Judge Mohammad Bashir of the accountability court announced the verdict, disqualifying both from holding any public office for 10 years.

The court had also imposed a hefty fine of Rs. 787,000,000 on the accused duo.
