PESHAWAR – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted more rains with snowfall over mountains for Peshawar and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during this week.
As per the synoptic situation, a westerly wave prevails over upper parts of Pakistan. It is likely to affect southern and western parts of the country from today evening/night.
Under these conditions, rain-wind/thunderstorm with snowfall over mountains is likely in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Malakand, Abbottabad, Balakot and Mansehra on Thursday evening/night, Friday and Saturday. Cold and partly cloudy weather is expected elsewhere in the province.
Snowfall may affect the transportation at tourist places in the province. Tourists are advised to be cautious.
Peshawar’s minimum temperature will likely remain between 05-07 degrees Celsius on Friday and Saturday.
Meanwhile, rain-thunderstorm/snow occurred in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the last 24 hours.

Kalam remained the coldest place in the province where mercury dropped 05 C below freezing.
In Peshawar, minimum temperature was recorded at 05 C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 100 per cent.
