LAHORE – The possibility of Ali Zafar’s voice echoing in the future Pakistan Super League (PSL) 9 season has emerged, with the departure of Zaka Ashraf causing dramatic changes in the situation.
According to details, Ali Zafar sang songs for the initial three seasons of the HBL PSL. In 2018, he faced allegations of harassment by fellow singer Meesha Shafi, which greatly affected his career.
Afterward, he was not given the opportunity to sing for PSL again. Although Ali Zafar was not proven guilty, a stain was cast upon him that could not be cleared despite significant efforts.
PCB has recorded three songs in Ali Zafar’s voice for the 9th season of Pakistan Super League (PSL).
One of them was selected. However, when PSL franchises received this news, a female representative objected. She expressed concern that considering the events of the past, including Ali Zafar in the league again would be inappropriate as it could have negative repercussions. Based on this, the board changed its intention to assign the project to Ali Zafar.
While Zaka Ashraf did not sign the contract, the situation is showing signs of change with the departure of the chairman of the organizing committee.
The incumbent authorities believe that since Ali Zafar has not been proven guilty, there is no obstacle in providing him with the opportunity.
It is hoped that the situation will become clearer in the coming days.
