KARACHI – Senior Pakistani writer, and advocate Nafees Siddiqui passed away on Saturday.
Besides being a legal expert, Siddiqui was also a revered columnist, who received accolades for his achievements during his decades long career.
His family confirmed the death of the veteran politician. The funeral prayers of the Sindh-based personality will be offered on Sunday in Masjid Noorul Islam Zamzama in the port city. He was unwell for quite some time and was suffering from renal ailments.
Siddiqui served as an advisor in the Sindh cabinet during the tenure of slain Pakistani PM Benazir Bhutto.
The death of Mr Siddiqui has shocked many and government representatives, politicians, activists and lawyers mourned his demise.
Social worker Ramzan Chhipa also condoled the death of Siddiqui. In a post, he prayed for the late politician for his rank in Jannah and extended support to the family over loss.
