Islamic flagship branch of BoK inaugurated in Islamabad

The Bank of Khyber (BoK) inaugurated its new flagship branch in the heart of Blue Area, Islamabad.

Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan (CEO The Centaurus, President IDA) and Irfan Saleem Awan, Managing Director (A)/ CFO BoK, inaugurated the branch.

The event witnessed the presence of key figures, including Ali Khan Arbab, Group Head Islamic banking (A), Fauziah Mahmood, Head Marketing Division, Shaharyar Zafar, Head Digital, Media, Analytics Deptt, Khalid Masood, Head Institutional Liability Deptt, Muhammad Zahid Khan Area Manager Islamabad, along with other senior executives, also attended the branch inauguration.

With this latest addition, the bank has expanded its presence in the capital territory, now boasting a total of 15 branches. The newly inaugurated branch brings the Bank of Khyber’s comprehensive range of financial solutions closer to the business community, residents & organisations in the area.

The opening of this branch is a testament to the bank’s commitment in enhancing accessibility to shariah compliant banking in the capital.

Speaking with the media Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan expressed his appreciation for the Bank of Khyber’s efforts in promoting Islamic banking principles and fostering economic development in the region.

He said that Islamic financial system is based upon a commerce law known as fiqh al-mu’amalat. This law considers issues of social justice, equity, and fairness in all business transactions, and promotes the entrepreneurship, protects the property rights and emphasizes the transparency of contractual obligations according to divine law of Allah and his last messenger Muhammad (PBUH).

It is based on Shariah approved products which do not involve interest, uncertainty, gambling, and non-halal (prohibited) activities.

He commended the bank’s commitment to excellence and emphasised the role of financial institutions in driving economic prosperity.
