In a significant development, a Grand Jirga comprising nine Ahmadzai Wazir tribal elders convened at Wana Bazar in South Waziristan Lower district on Thursday, making a collective announcement of support for a public representative in the upcoming elections for Constituency NA 42 and PK 110 scheduled for February 8.
The esteemed Grand Tribal Jirga witnessed the presence of influential figures, including Malik Allauddin, Malik Sardar Ali, Malik Booz Gul, Malik Ashiq, and Malik Gul Azad. During the proceedings, tribal elders addressed the assembly, emphasizing that their votes would be cast in favor of a candidate who has actively championed public issues in the region, played a pivotal role in promoting peace, and contributed significantly to national conflicts and other pertinent matters.
Highlighting the awakened consciousness among the Ahmadzai Wazir tribes, the elders expressed their ability to discern between good and evil, underscoring that all candidates were honorable, with no personal differences among them. However, they firmly stated that their support would be extended to the candidate demonstrating tangible performance on the ground.
In a unified appeal to all tribes, the elders urged the electorate to rally behind the chosen candidate with a majority on February 8, urging them to exercise their vote for the selected representative. Moreover, the tribal elders directed a plea to the Election Commission and the current government, demanding a commitment to ensuring a fair and transparent electoral process. They stressed a zero-tolerance policy for any form of rigging in the upcoming elections for Constituency NA 42 and PK 110.
Looking ahead to the forthcoming election, the tribal elders expressed a collective sentiment that in this context, losing is winning.
